Fall

I must say that I am loving the fall season right now. Lately, Micah and I have been going out to parks to hang out and walk around and I am just savoring every beautiful moment. Fall is probably my favorite season. With colorful leaves everywhere and the nice warm breeze blowing the leaves away, it is such a relaxing thing to experience. I am very fortunate to have my life slow down in a way that I get to enjoy such a nice experience with my son.

Here are some pics that I took at Heritage Park. Can you beleive this is Calgary?

At Stanley Park

Here's a video of our day at Stanley Park:

Speaking of our little warrior, he is changing so fast! Yesterday, I bought him a jolly jumper and man, did he ever figure out how to bounce in it right away!! As you can see in this video:

I rarely see him on his back anymore because he now loves to be on his tummy. I can leave him there for 10 to 15 minutes and he loves it.

He totally recognizes Mom and Dad now too. He is still smilling lots and he's also got this little laugh that just melts my heart. So many things that are changing and It is hard to keep track. Good thing I have a blog :)

Anyway, I hope we have a nice fall weekend weather so everyone can enjoy it too!

ciao for now,
K

5 Months

My Dear Micah,

Today you turned 5 months old! and all mommy can say is Wow!

You are becoming your own little person every single day. You can perfectly say the word 'Hi' and I am just so lucky to witness you say it. This is because we keep on saying 'Hi....Hi....Hi...' to you all the time. Whenever I put you to bed, you seem to look for your toys on the floor and talk to them for awhile like you are saying hi to every stuffed toy :) (it is very cute)

You have also mastered the art of smiling at people. You also love to laugh and giggle. You now reach for anything that is in front of you...like Mommy's hair, plates on the table etc. etc. You are getting so good at being on your tummy for awhile. I think pretty soon you will be figuring out how to flip over to your back.

You are very ticklelish which you totally got from me. Like Daddy says ' You only have two volumes, loud and louder' which I think you got from Dad. hehehe

Our favorate time with you is in the morning when you wake up and Dad or I come and take you back to bed with us. You are at your best, happy mood during this time and we play and play with you until you get tired of it. Then we all snooze together and wake up and feel so blessed to have such an amazing boy that is healthy and so so beautiful.

You are also recognizing when it's bed time and we put you to your room. You give us this pleading cry to not take you in there but we still do anyway :) You fuss for a little bit and then you are out like a light! Phew! you are lots of work my boy but we don't mind it one bit.

Yesterday was your first trip to the zoo. We met Michelle and Heather along with their babies Canyon and Maija. You kept on smiling at everyone and it would make them smile back. You didn't pay too much attention to the animals yet but I know that you will pretty soon. No worries though, I bought us an annual pass so we can go back there and get to know all the little and big creatures of this world. Yay!

Anyway kiddo, I just want to say that I am so proud of you and I love you like crazy.

till next month,
Mom

15 Minutes

What can you do in 15 minutes? A lot! I just finished doing 180 situps (3 sets each using 3 different ab exercises) and 60 reps of low back extension. I was busy cleaning the kitchen and the bathroom while Mark was working out in our gym downstairs. He came up and he looked so good that in my mind I wanted to work out too but I kept trying to find other excuses like 'I need to do some organizing right now'. Well, Mark said 'You've done enough organizing for today, do something for yourself'.....so long story longer, I went and did what he told me to do and now I feel much better. The great part is it only took me 15 minutes of hard workout and I'm done! From running my 5 laps and doing abs and low back today, I already feel great! My goal is to stop eating all the sweet things I can get my hands on (like my soy-peppermint-hot chocolate - extra hot - no whip), chocolate and more chocolate. If I can do that and run 3 times a week and strength train for at least 20 minutes every day, I will be in good shape in no time!

Anyway, my little prince is getting cuter by the day. I cannot beleive that he is a week away from turning 5 months! Anyway, here are some up to date cute pics of my little warrior.

Trip Update and a hard day

Right now I am having a glass of beer. Why? because I feel that I needed and desrved one. Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to start drinking beer every time I have a hard day but it just felt good to do it. (you'll know the reason why in a second) Plus, beer is suppose to help you get engorged when you're breastfeeding anyway so that's a plus :)

Man, what a day! I have pretty much spent 90% of the day trying to help and comfort my son. He only napped for 1/2 hour in the morning and 1/2 hour in the afternoon. This is because he has been crying non-stop! And, he has been screaming like crazy too like his throat is bothering him. Anyway, I don't know what that is. Maybe it's because he is in pain from teething? or he's sick or something else. We totally regret making fun of the kid next door (Alister who is 2 months older than Micah when we hear him screaming all the time) because right now, Micah pretty much did the same thing all day! I even tried everything: from giving him baby Tylenol, to teething rings to baby anbesol, baths, lots of food and walk outside to just calming him down. All I know is something is bothering him and by the time he passed out from crying I was ready to pass out myself. I guess I just have to remember what Mark said one day: "This too shall pass". I hope so...and I am hoping it will tomorrow as I have to drive all the way to Wetaskiwin again to return my parents van and pick up Cassy. Ok, enough of the not so fun stuff. I just have to remind myself to not blame myself even though I can't help it. I guess since I am pretty much with Micah all day and just as a mother, I tend to blame myself when something is bothering him. It's probably just my personality......or do other Mom's do that too?

Some Milestones I would like to note:

Micah is starting to form his own personality now. He will tell you in his own way when he doesn't like where he's at or is tired of something. He has also started reaching things more now. I will show him something and he will just automatically reach out for it and put it directly into his mouth. Also, he started to suck his right foot (well right big toe) and it's pretty funny to watch. He has also mastered the art of rolling to his left side so quickly that I always have to watch him all the time now. He is loving being on his tummy and is able to push with his arms now. He loves to giggle and smile and it just melts my heart. He is so much fun to be with that it is hard to comprehend when you get bad days like I had today but I just have to accept them and learn from them I guess. Yeah, parenting is hard work -- whoever tells you that it's not is a hmnn...how do I say it nicely....ok i won't....you can just finish it with your own words.

As for our trip to Panorama, it was pretty awesome! Jenn, you are right about not being the same vacation to pre-baby days :) Let's just say that we did a lot of relaxing (which was great).

Some time well spent with Dad:

Some time well spent with Mom:

We however managed to do a few things with our little guy though which were his first experiences at 4 months. We took him swimming to the pool in the upper village in Panorama (which had a warm pool) and he loved it!

He also had a mini swim at Kinsmen Beach in Invermere (btw, what a beautiful beach...a little cool for our boy but he still managed to be in the water with no complaints). We also took him trail biking with us in his Chariot and he liked that too. We took him everywhere we went and most of the time he was good about it.

We had some days when he had enough so we just stayed in during those days. But all in all, we had an awesome time! The mountains are beautiful and we had such amazing weather in the week that we stayed there.

Anyway enough pics, I'm going to finish my beer and pass out!
