My late July monthly letter

Dear Micah,

Belated 15 month old birthday my boy! I'm sorry this letter is a little late sweetie. I want to let you know how precious each day is that I spend with you. Every morning is a new adventure. I look forward to picking you up in your crib and starting the day with you. You have been sleeping 12 to 13 hours every night and your Dad and I are loving that. Hopefully it will be like this for awhile :)

You have been spending lots of time in the water this month. You love it! you are such a fish! We have been to the spay park, the lake, the river and of course your little pool on the back.

You also figured out that you can run with your little powerful legs. And you run everywhere and especially after Cascas. She is constantly finding places to hide from you.

You have been into climbing things too. You love climbing onto chairs, boxes, benches and the stairs.

You also like to sit on things. Your favorate spot right now is sitting on the stairs. You like to hang out there with Cassy, or play with your toys or read your books. And if you see anything that you can sit on you do not hesitate to sit on it.

You have been getting really good at figuring things out. Like putting things in and out of your truck. Playing with the legos and figuring out how they stack up.

Your are loving playing with your balls too. I always have to bring a spare ball in the van because whenever we are at the park or the lake and you see a ball, you are determined to go after it even though it's not yours.

You are starting to figure out that you can throw little tantrums towards Mom or Dad and it's pretty cute. Of course, we just laugh and wait until you're calmed down. I know I say that right now because it's just minor tantrums...hopefully we won't have to deal with the major ones like the kid next door. He is pretty good at throwing some big tantrums. I guess we'll just have to see about that.

You are starting to understand words more now. I ask you to give something to me and you do. Or find something like your book and you actually go and pick up a book and hand it over to Mom. Or something like show it to Dad and you go over to your Dad and show it to him. Recently I have been pointing to the helicopter when it is over us and you totally get excited and point to it as well. You are becoming so smart my love.

You love to imitate what we say and do so we now have to really watch what we are doing around you. Hopefully your Dad and I are doing the right things and making the right decisions for you. We only want what is best for you my baby.

Anyway kiddo, I wanted to get this up before the end of the month. I say it's better late than never.

I love you my little warrior.

A much needed update of our life

Hello all! I hope you have time to read this one. Well, skim through some pics of what we have been up to in the past few weeks. It's been really hard to put aside some time to blog recently. I finally decided to do it tonight at 12:05 in the morning (yes, that is the time I found to do it). I left Mark to party with his friends at a wedding we went to tonight, and I came home to an already asleep Micah...so I figured might as well blog!

Things will be better starting next week. My best friend Angele has decided to look after Micah for a full day once a week so I can go and do some work. This way he gets an Auntie Angele to look after him who love him so much!(Micah you are so lucky!)and I get to go out, do some web work and have a little Krissy time. Phew! this is so great! it will allow me to have some balance in my life. I can now have some nights to relax and spend time with my family, and yet still work on my business. Thank you Angele! you save me once again :) We appreciate you so much!

As for business, all I can say is I have a lot more appreciation and respect for people that own a business. It is soooo freakin hard! yet so much more rewarding. Hard in a way that you have to constantly promote yourself, make sure your clients are happy and constantly be thinking about how to make your business better. I now am starting to sleep less but what's new?! I am learning so much right now it is mind bogling. I like it though, it challenges me everyday...I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't have something to do.

As for my little warrior, he is at a fun stage right now that I am loving every single minute that I spend with him. We have a routine for this phase of his life. He wakes up at 7:30 but I usually let him play in his crib until 8. Then I go and change him, give him his bottle and he checks out all of his books for 1/2 hour. We then try to wake up Mark but he always ends up sleeping in! When do I get to do that Marky? After that we head downstairs to have breakfast as a family. That is our everyday morning routine. I am so thankful that I get to spend it just like this. I wouldn't change it for the world. The great thing about having your own business is you get to set the time you work during the day. For Mark he usually starts around 10:30...for me I usually start when Micah is in bed. But that will change starting next week. yay!

Some Micah milestones. He is my little running man! yes! chasing after Cassy and squealing at the same time. He will do this for at least 1/2 hour every day and getting better at it too. Now that he has figured out how to run, it has resulted to a lot more tumbles and harder falls. He got the biggest fattest lip we've ever seen. He was running in front of our house yesterday and fell hard on the pavement. Mark and I felt soooo bad! There was so much blood that we totally forgot everything else but to take him inside and comfort him. I thought he broke his nose because he was kind of breathing funny when he was asleep. Mark reassured me that it was his snore but paranoid me didn't quite believe him. Anyway, he is doing much better today. Just a few scratches on his chin and upper lip and a really really big fat lower 'w'ips.

He is talking a lot more. He can say the word 'show' very well and it sounds soooo cute! I love it!

His tantrums are getting better. I think he is becoming so smart about it but I am smarter :) He's got this thing where he whines and wants me to pick him up. My trick recently that I found and works is that whenever he does that, I will just stoop down to his level and asks him what he wants. He then gives me a hug or touches me and then he is off to see something else. Everytime he does that, I kneel down and let him know that I'm still here. And I am so proud that it is actually working for me. We are trying to not pick him up everytime he does that.

With the weather being so hot, he and I are loving spending time in places where there is water. Either the pool, spray park or the river by Stanley park. We have become quite regulars at these places. Micah loves the water no matter how cold it is or how cold he gets. We are looking forward to our trip to the Philippines this winter. November 26 is our tentative date that we have picked to leave cold Calgary...woohoo! I can't wait!

Ok, ok...as promised here are some pics from what we've been up to in the past weeks. Enjoy!

He loves the park!

Things to do at Grandmas

Some wedding pics

And some baby pics!

And more spending time with Grandma at the farm!

Ok...I think I uploaded enough pics :D It's now 1:20 in the morning so I am signing off. Have a good week everyone!

take care,
K

Update

Hello all,

Sorry again for the no blogging from me. We had to deal with Micah being sick and once he got better we had to drive up to Edmonton for my cousins wedding last weekend. We are now staying in Wetaskiwin at my parent's farm/house and having a blast! We have another wedding to go to in Edmonton this coming weekend so we will stay here until July 8th. Weddings!weddings! and more weddings! We have another one to go to 2 weeks from now and one more in October. I guess 2007 is the year??? I don't know. Anyway, I will post some pics when we get back. For now, have a nice cool week!

ciao,
K
