13 Month Letter WITH Pics

My dear little sweetheart,

You turned 13 months yesterday. Happy belated birthday!

[Some pics from your 1 year old birthday party]

You are liking walking my boy. You are picking up speed as well and have figured out how to turn. It is the cutest thing to watch. Now that you can walk, you try to chase Cassy a little bit and this is followed with lots of squeals and giggles from you.

You are loving pointing as well. You point at Mom when she comes down the stairs. You point at Dad, CasCas, the light and pretty much anything that interests you.

You love the park! Mom always make sure that we check out the park after we go running around Stanley park. I take you to the swing and we hang out there for awhile. I love the way you check out new things. The other day, while I was pushing you on the swing the helicopter flew by and you were so amazed! It made me feel so thankful to be there and to be able to see the look on your face.

I tell your Dad how much I love spending my days with you. I so love it! That's because Mom is busy at night. Lately, I have been working non-stop every night. I have been really getting busy with my business and it makes me appreciate my days with you.

You have become more vocal too and you are now getting good at complaining.

You are becoming your own little person and we are so proud of you.

You have no fear. You are curious and want to check out everything.

Yesterday we took you to the water park and you went straight to touch the water! You cried when we took you away so we let you hang out for a few more minutes.

You have also been waking up screaming at night. I think it might be your teething again. I noticed the change when Mom was getting up at 2 in the morning and trying to comfort you. This was so not the scene two weeks ago when you were sleeping through the night. I wish those nights to be back :( oh well, I know it will pass.

Anyway my little warrior I marvel at how smart, co-ordinated, happy and such a good kid you are. You are still lots of work but it is such rewarding work.

I love you so much!

Mom

Monthly Letter - 1 Year Later

Right now, Mark and I are drinking a very expensive wine to celebrate our 1 year of parenting. (Thanks Rob and Anna) Very very good wine :)

It is hard to believe how this time last year I was screaming my face off watching the flames play in the playoffs and I went into labour.

http://krisbabyadventures.blogspot.com/2006/05/update-labour-delivery-and-baby.html

Reading my blog over again made it feel like it was just yesterday.....but it also felt like it was so long ago. Time flew by that's for sure. I couldn't even remember what our summer was like last year because we were sleep deprived, brand new parents and pretty much everything was a blur. I now realize what people mean when they say 'Enjoy every minute of it!'.

----------------------------------------MY LETTER TO MICAH---------------------------
My Dear Micah,

Happy 1 year old Birthday! First and foremost, I am so proud to be your Mom. I am in awe everytime I look at you. You have grown so fast my boy. You have reached so many milestones over the past year that it is hard to keep track. Hopefully I have managed to document some of your milestones that you will be able to read and laugh at them someday. You have become such a spirited little boy. You are still little though :) and I am cherishing every moment. I feel so blessed to be able to stay home and take care of you. I wouldn't want to miss out on so many things......even if they were just the little things. You are only so little once. Some days I ask myself if I am doing the right thing....staying home to look after you. It only takes a few seconds to realize that I am.

This month you have been a busy little bee. You go everywhere by cruising around the house.

You are now able to take 2 to 3 steps on your own. It won't be long now until you are able to finally just walk, walk and probably run! I am looking forward to that day.

Now that it's nicer outside we spend more of our time outdoors. You love being in your chariot! Mom can run for an hour no problem because you have no problems with that!

We have also faced your car seat forward and you enjoy it so much more. Everytime I go on reverse and look back, there's always a big smile on your face because Mommy turned her head around. I love that!

You love to read your books! I always make sure that I put the time to read with you during the day. You have also figured out how to flip the books so they are not upside down. You do this now everytime you read. Very impressive my son! I love reading the alphabooks to you because you try to say the words as well. You can say 'Duck' , 'Fish', and 'Cheese' really well.

You have become such a good talker too! You are very expressive and I admire that about you. Sometimes I wish I was more like that too :)

You are getting so good at climbing over things. You actually climbed over the bench that we use to block you from the kitchen. yikes! I guess we just have to baby proof the kitchen 100 percent!

You are such a good dancer too! Every time you hear any kind of beat or tune you shake your little booty. I love it! That's probably because I dance with you every day. It is so much fun!

Your favorite toys right now are balls and balloons! Guess what we're having lots of on your party? I am going to make sure there's balloons in every room! Well, maybe just the living room! he!he!

You now love to do 'head tripods'. I'm sure you'll figure out how to somersault soon enough.

Last but not least is your teeth. It has been a tough month my son. You have 6 teeth coming out and that means sleepless nights for Mom, Dad and of course you. They are almost out which is great! Until the next batch of course.

Well my little warrior, I look forward to singing you your first happy birthday song tomorrow. I love you sweetheart! and Happy Birthday!

------------------------------------------LOVE ALWAYS, MOM---------------------------

Right now I feel like I have accomplished something really big. Probably the biggest and most important accomplishment in my life. Being a Mom is definitely the hardest, most rewarding experience any woman will ever face. I have so much more respect for Mothers out there.

To Mark, you are the best Dad! Micah and I are so lucky that we are your family. We love you so so much! Thanks for your patience and love and lots more patience. You work so hard for us. Thanks for that too sweetheart! I appreciate you.

Lastly, I want to thank the people in my life who have supported me throughout, specially this past year (you know who you are). I love you all and appreciate you being in our lives.

Monthly Letter

To my little warrior,

Happy 11 month birthday! I wasn't going to miss this day to post my monthly letter for you. I am in awe of how much you have grown in the last couple of weeks. You are going to be 1 year old in a month! Yikes! I am somewhat stunned at how fast 1 year has gone. I am having the most amazing time of my life raising you my boy!

You have reached so many milestones in the past couple of months that it is difficult to keep track. Firstly, you are now able to cruise around when you are close to furniture or a wall.

You love looking out the window and banging on the glass. You seem to like to hang out by the gate now too which is not a good thing. You willingly throw your toys down the stairs and jibber and jabber away!

Love your cute little fat ankles!

You are still my speedy little crawler (which is fine by me) At least I can still keep up to you. I can only imagine how fast you will be when you can walk by yourself.

You love reading books. Sometimes I find you reading a book (well, more like flipping the pages) and blabbing away. It is the cutest thing! You have this specific talk when you are reading and I just smile away when I hear you because I know what you are doing even when I'm not looking.

Lately, we have been going out to enjoy the baby swing in the courtyard. You love it! And I love watching you enjoy it. Today, you even gave a little cry when I pulled you away from the swing. Oh well, more of that to come, I'm sure of it :)

You have been really good around people. This Saturday we had about 14 people at our house to celebrate your Dad's bday and you did really well. We were scared at how you would react to that many people around the house but you were a social butterfly. You have been good with your little friends too. It's been fun watching you interact with other kids.

Our Mom and Baby Group (they are so awesome!)

I think you and Canyon are going to be great buddies!

You are now able to say Dada when Dad is around and call me 'Mama' when you need something :)

I also gave you a haircut a week ago and it totally makes you look like such a little man! So very cute and so very handsome!

There are so many that I'm forgetting but I just wanted to let you know that I am so proud of you my boy. And so in love with you too!

Happy Birthday kiddo!

Love,
Mom

Monthly Letter

To my little warrior,

Happy 10 month old birthday!

I cannot believe how you will turn 1 in a couple of months. There are lots of milestones that you have reached and we are amazed at every one of them. I can't explain them all tonight because Mommy is just soooo tired sweetheart. You are a ball of energy and it is hard to keep up sometimes. I love you like crazy though. You are worth it my son. Everyone that meets you seems to describe you as a 'Happy' kid. And yes I agree.

You have become a social butterfly. You make people smile and laugh and gush all over you. We went and celebrated your Auntie Evie's birthday and you had such an awesome time.

Hangin out with Auntie Evie and Uncle Chris

They love you so much buddy!

You really like your Uncle Chris

Kara's baby...Dawson. He is the biggest cutest dog I've ever seen!

You seem to like Uncle Gord's drink....you are very good at drinking from a glass/cup...I'm so proud of you!

Grandpa was trying to baby proof the place but you didn't let him.

Grandma's little angel :)

By the end of the night you were pretty spaced out. You just kept on looking at the candles and didn't know what to do. All in all it was a very fun birthday. Happy 27th birthday Evie!

Your Dad and I will do the silliest things just to hear you laugh.

You are becoming your own little character. A smart one too. Today you figured out how to escape from our little play area by crawling under the bench. That's probably why I'm so tired :) You have been falling a lot lately too and bonking your head everywhere. I guess it's just normal for little busy bees like you. Your two upper teeth have finally come out and you have been grinding them constantly with your two bottom ones. It is very cute but I'm sure it's not good for you. I'm pretty sure that you will be walking pretty soon too. Can't wait to be your walking buddy :) Anyway kiddo, I am so proud of you. I love you with everything I have.
