Motherhood

I have been enjoying spending time with my little man. Actually, both Mark and I are fully enjoying him. Now that the countdown to the end of my mat leave is coming near, I am more and more appreciating my decision to be able to stay at home and raise my little warrior. He is so much fun to be with. I am trully blessed to have a busy, happy kid. I can't beleive he will be 1 in a few weeks. Mark and I were talking about his birthday and how it is more like a celebration for us (that we have made it through the first year). And of course, a celebration for him too :)

Anyway, here are a few pics of him eating.

I can't keep up. He is a little piglet. He eats a whole egg for breakfast (hard boiled of course). AND he eats everything that is placed on his tray. Today, I gave him a spoon and he actually figured out how to put the spoon in his mouth (with food in it). It was a very messy dinner but I was amazed at how quick he figured things out.

More Micah Pics

The garbage truck came and he was in awe!

Had to take a picture of his most used sleeper :) Love the little toe!

One more pic of him eating (again!) but this time in his cute little turtle neck!

Anyway, just lovin being a Mom :)

Ciao for now,
K

Welcome to 2007!

Hi all,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. As for our family, we had a great one. Our little man was the highlight of it all and he deserved it. Mark and I are already looking forward to our next Christmas next year. We are planning on taking a 4 week vacation. First week will be spent in Thailand and the rest of the 3 weeks will be spent on the the beach resort in the Philippines. Yahoo! I am so so excited already! My Mom, brother and his girlfriend went there last year and they were talking about the fresh seafood that you eat (like 'jumbo shrimp' as big as lobsters) really, Forest Gump knew what he was talking about :) Anyway, Micah Pants will be almost 2 by then so might as well do this trip now while his fare is still free.

Also, I was thinking about my New Year resolutions while I write this blog and all I want now is to make the world a better place for my son to live in, have good health, spend lots of time with my family and be happy with myself (meaning - physically, mentally, spiritually). As I look back at the goals that I have written last year, I am also proud of myself for accomplishing a lot. Looking back now, I am amazed at the many fulfilling experiences I've had. Sometimes it was hard (like when I was working full time AND going to night school while I was 8 months pregnant) and sometimes it was very painful, but very fulfilling (like giving birth to my wonderful precious son). I could never have survived all of this without the love and support of my awesome partner in crime, Marky. You make me a better person and I am so blessed and thankful for what we have.

As for my little warrior...he is growing insanely fast. I know I probably sound like a broken record already but they do grow so quickly! He finally figured out how to crawl today (the good crawl on all fours) and he is getting faster by every crawl. He has also figured how to splash in his tub. (very very cute!) He would splash his face and giggle like crazy and do it over and over again. He is also getting way too attached to Mom. He would cry every time I leave the room. Hopefully this is just a phase. Of course, Dad is always to the rescue (thanks Marky).

Last but not least, I would like to give my love to my other dog Sammy. He will be leaving for Nova Scotia in about 8 days and I will miss him dearly. He has been my baby prior to Micah and now we have to do the hardest thing and that is to give him up. At least he will be with someone that loves him as much as I did. I'm sure he will love it in Cape Breton.
We will miss you Sam! Cassy will miss you lots too!

And here are a few more pics. Enjoy! K

Update

Hello all,

Sorry for the blog delay. We were in the process of cutting off Telus from our lives and we had no internet access for a few days. I have to say that 'Telus Sucks!'. We've had pretty bad service from them for the past few months now and that is why we now welcome Shaw into our lives along with cable tv. Yay! I almost had a nervous breakdown for not being able to access the internet for 3 days but I managed to busy myself with my little warrior.

First off, I would like to give you an update on my little man. We are having so much fun with him at this stage.

He now likes to sit up all the time.

He LOVES to eat! (He has mastered chewing his food and likes to hang on to his spoon too)

He is such a strong kid. He can now pull himself up to check out the toys in his toybox.

Loves to do things with Mom and Dad too. Here are a few pics of my little 'Ricardo' at the Zoo lighs.

If you haven't been out to see the lights yet this year, you should. It was pretty cool!

Anyway, my sister and I will be turning 28 in 2 days...I don't know how I feel about that yet. We love Christmas! I guess when you are born close to that time Christmas becomes extra special. Micah is also turning 8 months 2 days after that so lots of celebration coming up in the next few days.

Take care everyone,
K

Flamenco, Family and More Babies

Hello all,

Mark and I went and saw my girlfriend Fiona dance Flamenco this weekend and it was awesome! It was great to go out and see something different. It was held at the Calgary Opera Center and she put an amazing show. I must say that she is one of the best Flamenco dancers I have ever seen! If you are ever interested in watching something unique and beautiful, I highly recommend checking her shows in the future. Her website is: http://www.fionamalena.com/index.html

My brother and her girlfriend came over this weekend as well and we had a great time with them. Micah cried the first day they were here but was enjoying their company once he got used to them. I guess he is at the 'making strange' stage. He will also turn 7 months in a few days and I cannot beleive how big he's gotten. He is more squirmy now and very strong. He is sleeping better too but I don't know how long that will last. I guess I better enjoy it :) Anyway, here are some pics from this weekend:

Last but not least, I would like to Congratulate a few of my friends whose given birth recently:

To Mo and Allison for giving birth to a beautiful baby girl yesterday early Sunday morning! I am very excited for them. I know they will be changed forever and I know that they will be awesome parents!
Congrats you guys!!! Can't wait to hear about your adventures with your little one!

To my friends Chris and Di for giving birth to a beautiful baby boy, Brett Daniel. He is baby #3 and I am so happy for them. I can't beleive you guys have 3 boys. Wow, that's awesome! Pretty soon you can have your own hockey team :) he!he! Congrats you guys! He is so beautiful!

Ciao for now,
